Choi Won-seok, the president of BC Card, has effectively succeeded in his third consecutive term.

According to the card industry on the 17th, BC Card held a board recommending candidates for executives the previous day and recommended Choi Won-seok, the current president of BC Card, as the sole candidate for the next representative. BC Card plans to hold its regular shareholders' meeting in March next year to make a final decision on Choi's reappointment.

The Commissioner stated that Choi meets the qualifications required for a chief executive officer as defined in the succession plan for chief executives.

Choi was reappointed after completing a two-year term in March last year, having taken office as the president of BC Card in February 2021. If his reappointment is confirmed this time, his term will be extended by another year.

Choi is credited with significantly improving BC Card's performance this year. As of the third quarter, BC Card's consolidated cumulative net profit was 129.3 billion won, an increase of 85.8% compared to the same period last year (69.5 billion won).

Choi graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in international economics and completed his MBA at New York University's Stern School of Business. He joined Korea Securities in 1998 and has served as the chief financial officer of FnGuide and the CEO of Fn Asset Valuation.
