Recently, singer Koo Jun-yeob said, "I am going through the painful time as if my intestines are being torn apart."

Koo Jun-yeob, in a post on his social networking service (SNS) on the 6th, expressed his deep gratitude to many who mourned for his wife, saying, "I want to thank everyone who mourned for Hee-won."

He noted, "I had no strength to say anything, nor did I want to," but added, "Before the pain of great loss and mourning even passed, demonic people began to slander our family and my love."

Koo Jun-yeob said, "They are creating fake news about insurance and expense to hurt our family," and added, "Just the thought that such bad people really exist in the world makes me fearful."

He continued, "Can't you please just stay quiet so that our Hee-won can rest in peace?" and urged, "I earnestly ask you to do so."

His wife, famous Taiwanese actress Shih Yi-wen, suddenly passed away on the 2nd during a trip to Japan due to pneumonia complications from the flu. This was shocking news received about two years after they married in 2022, having reunited after 23 years.

Koo Jun-yeob also revealed his stance regarding his wife's estate. Previously, local Taiwanese media estimated that Shih Yi-wen's estate was around 600 million yuan (120 billion won) and speculated that her two daughters from her previous marriage and her current husband, Koo Jun-yeob, could each inherit one-third.

Koo Jun-yeob said, "The precious estate that Hee-won left behind is what she gathered through labor and sweat to protect her beloved family during her lifetime," adding, "I intend to give all my rights to my mother-in-law."

He further stated, "The time I spent with Hee-won is a precious and valuable gift that cannot be exchanged for anything in the world," and said, "I believe my last duty is to protect the family Hee-won loved the most."

In closing, he expressed gratitude, saying, "I bow my head once again in thanks to all who loved and mourned our Hee-won."
