The film "Harbin" has been sold to 117 countries, including the United States, Japan, France, Australia, and Spain. Since its release, it has maintained the top spot for 25 days, continuing its domestic box office success.
According to the distributor, CJ ENM, the film "Harbin," which depicts the 1909 Harbin incident involving Ahn Jung-geun, will be released in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan around the end of this month. It has already premiered in the United States, Indonesia, and Malaysia, bringing the total to 117 countries.
CJ ENM noted, "It is significant that a film based on a history with strong uniqueness of our country has been sold to 117 countries." It further analyzed that the anticipation for director Woo Min-ho's new work, the participation of popular actors including Hyun Bin, and recognition for artistic quality through invitations to prestigious international film festivals like the Toronto International Film Festival have made it appealing to foreign film distributors.
The film portrays Ahn Jung-geun and independence fighters on their journey to Harbin Station to assassinate Ito Hirobumi. The cast includes Hyun Bin, Park Jung-min, Jo Woo-jin, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Lee Dong-wook.
Since its release on the 24th of last month, the film has consistently topped the box office for 25 days, surpassing a cumulative audience of 3.77 million. As of the morning of the 8th, according to the integrated movie ticketing system, "Harbin" has maintained the number one pre-booking rate for all movies in its third week, surpassing "Dongsin but for adults," "Ferrari," and "Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances."
