A photo of twin giant pandas born in July was selected by TIME magazine as one of the “Top 100 Photos of 2023.” The only photo from Korea features the moment captured just after the tiny hairless cubs were born on the early morning of Jul. 7.

The twin females have been named Rui Bao, which means wise treasure, and Hui Bao or shining treasure. They are the cubs of Ai Bao and Le Bao, a giant panda couple given to Korea by China, who already gave birth to Fu Bao, the first panda ever to be born here.

The twins weighed 180 grams and 140 grams at birth but have now already grown to more than 8 kilograms. Everland plans to show them to the public early next year.

TIME magazine annually selects 100 “did-you-see-this” photos that make up “an unranked collection of... the images that moved” people worldwide.
