
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 12th that it has decided to outsource civil servant artificial intelligence (AI) training to Naver. To this end, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Naver signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the establishment and operation of an AI specialist training program.
Under this agreement, the two parties will jointly operate a special program for AI specialists starting March 31. The first training will involve 20 civil servants. The government plans to continuously expand this training to cultivate AI specialists.
Ko Ki-dong, the acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "We will strengthen AI expertise in the public sector by fostering public talent with excellent capabilities based on cooperation with corporations."
Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, noted, "I find it meaningful that Naver's AI and cloud technologies are being utilized in the training program to enhance AI capabilities in the public sector," and added, "We will continue to advance AI tools to assist public sector operations."
