STMicroelectronics (ST) announced on the 18th that it has been selected as one of the top 100 global innovation corporations in 2025.
Alexandro Cremonesi, senior vice president and head of the systems research and applications division at ST, noted, “As this is our 7th award this year, we are honored to be recognized as a top 100 global innovation corporation in 2025, which reflects ST's firm commitment to achieving consistent large-scale innovations in products, technologies, and advanced manufacturing, as well as the efforts and creativity of our global teams.”
ST explained that it invests significantly in research and development (R&D), with about 20% of its employees collaborating extensively with major research institutes and corporate partners worldwide while focusing on product design and development in technology. ST is recognized as a leading semiconductor technology innovation corporation in various fields, including smart power technology, wide bandgap semiconductors, edge AI solutions and optical sensing, and digital and mixed-signal technologies, as well as silicon photonics.
Gordon Samson, head of intellectual property (IP) at Clarivate, explained, “Considering that the number of inventions has increased 80-fold since 2000, being selected as a top 100 global innovation corporation is an incredible achievement.”
The ranking of the top 100 global innovation corporations is determined by Clarivate's IP and Innovation Research Center. It measures the impact, success, and uniqueness of ideas, as well as investments in inventions, utilizing global patent data for the investigation.
