The number of items available for transaction on NextTrade (NXT), the country's first alternative trading system (ATS), will increase from 10 to 110.
According to NextTrade on the 14th, starting from the 17th, a total of 100 stocks, including 50 listed companies on the KOSPI market and 50 listed companies on the KOSDAQ market, will be available for trading. NextTrade has been processing transactions for 10 stocks, including S-Oil, LG Uplus, and Cheil Worldwide, from the 4th to the 14th.
Among the additional KOSPI market stocks, DB Insurance has the largest market capitalization. As of the closing price on that day, DB Insurance's market capitalization is 6.72 trillion won. Financial and securities stocks, including NH Investment & Securities, Korean Financial Group, Samsung Securities, BNK Financial Group, and Kiwoom Securities, will also be available for transactions on NextTrade.
HD Hyundai has the second-largest market capitalization at 5.9 trillion won. LOTTE Corporation, Hanwha, GS, and other listed holding companies are also included in the transactions. Additionally, LG H&H, CJ CheilJedang, Nongshim, Emart, Hyundai Steel, Hyundai E&C, and Kangwon Land will begin trading on NextTrade.
Among the additional KOSDAQ market stocks, CAREGEN has the largest market capitalization. Following are Studio Dragon, Park Systems, Seegene, WONIK IPS, CJ ENM, HK inno.N, and TOKAI CARBON KOREA, all of which have a market capitalization of over 1 trillion won.
Once included in NextTrade’s transaction list, trading will be available for 12 hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is because the regular market is supplemented by pre-market (from 8 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.) and after-market (from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.). NextTrade plans to increase the number of tradable items to 350 starting on the 24th and to 800 starting on the 31st.
With the expansion of stocks, it has become important for transactions through NextTrade to become activated. The daily transaction amount on NextTrade was over 20 billion won on the first and second days of launching, but it has decreased to around 10 billion won this week. Most of the trading in the pre- and after-market is participated in by individual investors only.
