The Korea Baseball Softball Association (President Yang Hae-young, KBSA) held a meeting with national team leaders on the 20th, attended by Lee Young-bok (Chungam High School), Park Gye-won (Busan High School), Lee Yeon-su (Sungkyunkwan University), and Chey Tae-won (Kyunghee University), who have served as coaches for the youth national baseball team and adult (under 23) national team over the past three years (2022-2024).

During the meeting, the main contents of the national team leader and player selection regulations as well as the current status of the national team’s operations were shared, and various opinions and requests for improvements regarding selection criteria and methods for coaches and players, domestic training sessions, sponsorship clothing and supplies for the national team, performance analysis, and support for international competitions were collected.

Key points discussed included ▲the increase of coaching and training support staff (bullpen catchers, batting ball pitchers) for efficient team management and training, ▲review of the operation of the national team reserve system, ▲extension of the domestic training period, ▲securing and additional support for local adaptation training periods, and ▲the need for synergy effects and systematic management of performance analysis data through the joint establishment and operation of a performance analysis team by both professional and amateur players.

The association decided to actively work on expanding support through securing additional sponsors to form and operate the national team on a limited budget, and plans to formally present the results of the meeting as an agenda item to the professional-amateur working committee (tentative name) that will be jointly launched with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) in the future.
