Is it fortunate that it is not serious?

Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) KIA Tigers genius hitter Kim Do-young (22)'s thigh injury has been determined not to be serious.

Kim Do-young was injured on his left thigh while running the bases after getting his first hit during the game against the NC Dinos on the 22nd. He was immediately moved to the designated team hospital, Seonhan Hospital, to undergo an MRI. The hospital diagnosed a hamstring injury.

The concern was the extent of the injury. The club sent the diagnostic film taken to Sejong Sports Orthopedic Hospital, a specialized hospital in Seoul, and requested an interpretation, and the result received a Stage 1 diagnosis, the same result as Seonhan Hospital.

On the 23rd, the club explained, "All three places agreed. Fortunately, the injury is not as serious as we feared. We received a Stage 1 diagnosis." They added, "We will determine the exact return date after a re-examination in two weeks."

Manager Lee Beom-ho noted, "They say there will be a re-examination in two weeks. We should be able to determine the return point then," adding, "I couldn’t sleep. He got hurt trying hard to go for one more BASS. I respect that he played his best, and I won’t say anything against it. However, key players in the team must be careful about injuries."

He also emphasized, "There is no clear reason for a hamstring injury. Players must manage themselves well. Now it’s 144 games. There’s tremendous physical strain. They must understand well when to run and when not to."

Kim Do-young was removed from the roster that day. The manager used Yoon Do-hyun as third baseman instead of Kim Do-young in the game against NC. Choi Won-jun was placed in the second batting order.

The manager stated, "Whether in defense or offense, we want to give him experience. It would be nice if Do-hyun showed his true self. If he performs well, we'll continue with him at third base, but we are considering other options as well. Wisdom also played third base in the U.S., and I asked Byeon Woo-hyuk to train at third base in the second team."
