The 36th National Sepak Takraw Championship, the first nationwide Sepak Takraw tournament of 2025, will kick off.
The National Sepak Takraw Championship will be held from the 22nd to the 26th for five days at the Hyoseong National Sports Center in Hyoseong-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. This is the first tournament under the leadership of Kim Young-jin, the 12th President of the Korea Sepak Takraw Association. The tournament is organized by the Korea Sepak Takraw Association and hosted by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Sepak Takraw Association, with a total of 41 teams participating from across the country. Additionally, it will also serve as the first national team selection trial in preparation for the Asian Cup in May and the World Championship in July. Kim Young-jin said, "I hope that this tournament marks the beginning of further growth for Sepak Takraw this year, and I am delighted to take this meaningful first step in Hyoseong." Hyoseong County Mayor Kim Myung-ki noted, "I am very pleased to host the National Sepak Takraw Championship for the fourth consecutive year, and I hope that all athletes can demonstrate their skills cultivated over time and achieve great results. I will do my best to create the best tournament environment."
