During the application period for the second people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons, a final tally showed that 97.5% of all eligible recipients collected about 4.5 trillion won.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 3rd that as of 6 p.m. on the 31st of last month, the deadline for the second consumption coupons, a total of 44.53 million people had applied and 445.27 billion won had been paid out.
By type, credit and debit cards accounted for the most at 68.5% (30.49 million cases), followed by ▲ regional love gift certificates at 18.5% (8.25 million cases) ▲ prepaid cards at 13% (5.79 million cases).
Regions with high payout rates were Jeju (98.14%), South Gyeongsang (98.12%), and North Gyeongsang (98.08%), while those with low rates were Seoul (96.4%), Busan (97.33%), and Daegu (97.52%).
The first and second consumption coupons must be used by the 30th of this month. If not used within the period, the remaining balance will be recovered by the national and local governments.
