At about 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 26, a fire broke out due to a lithium-ion battery explosion in the data center on the fifth floor of the NIRS building in Hwaam-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. System damage caused by the fire led to a simultaneous outage of government services. The government has continued restoration work for 22 days since the incident occurred. The government set a goal of normalizing most government systems by Nov. 20.
