Minister Yoon Ho-jung of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said, "We will push to restore government systems under the three principles of safety, security and trust."
Minister Yoon held a Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting on the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) fire at the Government Complex Seoul on the 13th and said, "As of 9 a.m. today, 260 out of a total of 709 systems have been restored, normalizing 36.7% overall."
He said, "With Post Office Shopping, the next-generation integrated shopping mall, and the electronic transaction system back to normal, sales channels for small business owners and the safety of public procurement have been secured," adding, "The social voucher electronic system has also been normalized, stabilizing access to welfare services for vulnerable groups."
Minister Yoon said, "Above all, as power has been restored to the '8 data center,' it is time to speed up recovery," adding, "We will do our best for the swift normalization of systems and for fundamental measures to prevent a recurrence."
He said, "Speed matters in recovery, but without on-site safety as a premise, no outcome has meaning," adding, "From access control to data checks, not a single security incident should occur." He continued, "We will transparently disclose the recovery status and future plans to the public and continue measures to minimize public inconvenience until the end."
Minister Yoon said, "The National Assembly audit begins today," adding, "We will humbly accept the issues raised and reflect them in future measures."
