The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said that as of 8 a.m. on the 1st, 98 out of 647 government administrative information systems that had been suspended due to a fire at the National Information Resources Service had been restored. The recovery rate is 15.1%. Among them, 21 of the 36 first-grade systems closely tied to people's daily lives have been fully restored.
Minister Yun Ho-jung said this at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the government resource fire, held the morning of the same day at the Government Complex Seoul in Jongno District, Seoul.
The Minister said, "(Yesterday) the 'Subcontractor Keeper' system was restored, easing concerns about unpaid or delayed wages," and added, "With the manual mobile phone lookup function for 119 restored, we can now determine the exact location of 119 callers, better ensuring public safety."
He went on to say, "We are well aware that public inconvenience continues," and noted, "Depending on the situation, we are also considering using data dispersed to centers such as the Gongju Center of the government resources."
The Minister said, "We will closely inspect the systems of external agencies under each ministry and affiliated public institutions," adding, "We apologize to the public for the inconvenience. The government will take responsibility and proceed with the restoration."
