The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 29th that 39 services, including post office internet deposits and mobile ID cards, have been restored among the 647 government services that were halted by a fire at the Daejeon National Information Resources Service (National Resources).
According to the ministry, as of 12 a.m. that day, 39 services had been fully restored. After 30 were restored as of 10 p.m. the previous day, nine more were added. Mobile ID cards cannot be newly issued, but they can be used normally. Post office finance internet deposits, smart deposits, the financial products mall, internet insurance, and smart insurance are also available. However, post office parcel delivery and mail have not yet been restored.
It is expected to take at least two weeks for full restoration. Services such as the People's Sinmungo, the National Law Information Center, and the Onnara System for public officials' administrative work are currently down.
The ministry said it is prioritizing systems that affect public safety, property, and economic activity, and is proceeding with restoration by setting priorities according to the grading system, including system criticality.
Yoon Ho-jung, Minister of the Interior and Safety, said, "We will transparently share the situation to minimize inconvenience to the public and do our best to maintain business continuity."
