The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) said on the 25th that they will run an online safety and health education course for foreign workers.
Until now, only Korean-language training content was offered, but starting on the 26th, training will be available in three languages: English, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
By the end of this year, the online training will expand to 17 languages. The target languages are those of Employment Permit System sending countries, including the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Laos, and Tajikistan.
The curriculum consists of three hours covering items foreign workers must know: ▲ basic safety rules ▲ types of protective gear and how to wear them ▲ workers' rights and obligations.
The online training is available via Korea University of Technology and Education's "Smart Vocational Training Platform" (https://kosha.step.or.kr) and the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) website (https://www.kosha.or.kr).
