Hiring for 500 additional seventh-grade labor inspectors at the Ministry of Employment and Labor begins next week.
The Ministry of Personnel Management said on the 10th that applications for the open competitive examination to select seventh-grade national civil servants in labor inspection and industrial safety will begin on the 15th.
This recruitment will select 300 in science and technology positions and 200 in administrative positions. The hires will be assigned to industry-by-industry labor inspection and industrial accident prevention duties.
Applications will be accepted for five days from the 15th to the 19th. The first-stage Public Service Aptitude Test (PSAT) will be held on Nov. 15 in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Daejeon. The second-stage written test will be held in Seoul on Jan. 24 next year, and the third-stage interview will be held Mar. 5–6 next year. Final successful candidates will be assigned to the Labor Ministry after April next year.
For detailed screening information and schedules, see the Cyber State Examination Center website at https://www.gosi.kr. The Ministry of Personnel Management said, "To address candidates' questions, we will publish the daily application status at 9 a.m. during the application period for the seventh-grade national civil service open recruitment exam."
This hiring follows the Lee Jae-myung administration's plan to increase the number of labor inspectors. Normally, national civil service recruitment begins in January, but this time an additional hiring round is being held in the fall, which is unusual. A large-scale additional recruitment of national civil servants is the first in seven years since 2017.
