The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that as of midnight on the 25th, 28,898,749 people had applied for the consumer coupon. This accounts for 57.1% of the total eligible recipients (50,607,067 people). The amount distributed is 5.2186 trillion won, which is over 1 trillion won more than the amount distributed up to the previous day.
During this week, the first week of consumer coupon applications, the number of applicants is increasing day by day. On Monday, the 21st, those born with the last digit of 1 or 6 numbered 6.98 million; on Tuesday, the 22nd, those with 2 or 7 numbered 7.31 million; on Wednesday, the 23rd, those with 3 or 8 numbered 7.20 million; and on Thursday, the 24th, those with 4 or 9 numbered 7.41 million. This Friday, applicants with the last digits of 5 or 0 can apply. Starting this weekend, applications will be accepted regardless of the year of birth.
The most common form of distribution was credit and debit cards (21,407,627 people). This was followed by mobile and card versions of local love gift certificates (4,466,475 people), prepaid cards (2,543,600 people), and paper versions of local love gift certificates (501,047 people).
The region with the highest application rate compared to the total eligible recipients was Incheon (60.95%). This was followed by Sejong (60.01%), Gwangju (58.59%), Daegu (58.23%), and Daejeon (58.18%), while Jeonnam (53.19%), Jeju (53.24%), Gangwon (54.74%), and Jeonbuk (54.79%) had relatively lower application rates.
