Oh Se-hoon's side noted regarding Myung Tae-kyun, who is under investigation by the prosecution for alleged electoral interference and poll manipulation, that they will not stand by and will respond strongly to acts of sowing disorder in Seoul's administration with false facts for political purposes.
On the 30th, Oh Se-hoon's side released a statement titled "Explaining as there are many questions regarding Myung Tae-kyun's summons by the prosecution" under Lee Jong-hyun, Seoul's civil communication advisor, stating that "Myung Tae-kyun's range of false statements is continuously increasing."
Earlier, Myung spoke out after finishing the prosecution's investigation the previous day, claiming that in January 2021, Oh Se-hoon told him, "If you help me get elected, I would like to buy a Seoul apartment," and offered former lawmaker Kim Young-sun the position of CEO of the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH).
In response, Oh Se-hoon's side stated, "In the past, Myung claimed to the media that he 'helped Oh Se-hoon in the election without compensation,' and now he asserts that he was promised an apartment," adding, "This is a self-contradictory statement." They also mentioned that "Myung Tae-kyun claims to have evidence of meeting Oh Se-hoon seven times," calling it the 'Myung Tae-kyun calculation method' where stalking is counted as meeting.
Oh Se-hoon's side further stated, "It is necessary to note the context behind Myung Tae-kyun's absurd statements, as there has been an increasing connection between Myung Tae-kyun and the Democratic Party recently," adding that since the appointment of lawyer Kim Gwang-min, who is also well known as the attorney for former Gyeonggi Province Peace Deputy Governor Lee Hwa-young, Myung's statements have become more aggressive and politically charged, showing alignment with the Democratic Party's strategy to attack Oh Se-hoon.
They continued, "After contacting the Democratic Party, Myung Tae-kyun made statements such as 'Oh Se-hoon promised Kim Young-sun the CEO position at the SH Corporation,' 'Oh Se-hoon said he was going to borrow money from Kim Han-jung,' and 'the apartment promise,' which provides sufficient grounds to suspect a political background," adding that it raises suspicions of a political collusion that goes beyond simple legal advice.
Oh Se-hoon's side stated, "Myung Tae-kyun's behavior must be calculated actions to mitigate his criminal charges and seek political protection through political transactions," asserting that "the Seoul Metropolitan Government will not tolerate attempts to undermine the trust in its administration with baseless delusions, and it plans to hold anyone spreading false information legally responsible."
