Gongsangmin, a forecaster at the Korea Meteorological Administration, noted during the regular meteorological briefing on the 17th that "cold air from the north and warm air from the south will collide, bringing thunderstorms and rain to the central region between the evening and night of the 19th (Saturday)."
The rain that started in northern Gyeonggi Province and northern Gangwon Province in the morning will expand into the central region, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island in the afternoon. By night, most of the country will see rain. The expected precipitation is ▲Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and the five western islands 5-20 mm ▲Gangwon inland and mountainous areas 5-20 mm, with heavy rain expected in the central region.
Other regions will experience ▲Gangwon east coast around 5 mm ▲Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk 5-10 mm ▲Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk less than 5 mm ▲Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk less than 5 mm ▲Jeju Island 5-10 mm.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "In areas where it is raining, visibility will be reduced and some roads may be slippery, so it is important to maintain a safe distance while driving and to reduce speed to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety."
On Sunday, the 20th, rain is expected in most areas until early morning. However, as the precipitation system moves southward, it is expected to weaken gradually, and by morning, most of the rain will have stopped. From the afternoon of the 20th, it will be mostly cloudy.
Temperatures will rise before the precipitation, driven by the southwest wind, but will drop slightly during the rain on Saturday, the 19th. The morning low temperature on that day will be between 9 and 16 degrees, and the maximum temperature in the afternoon will range from 16 to 26 degrees. On Sunday, the 20th, the morning low will also be between 9 and 16 degrees, with the afternoon high fluctuating between 14 and 26 degrees.
