The Ministry of the Interior and Safety noted that the final scale of support for dwellings damaged due to natural disasters or social disasters remains the same.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 6th, natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, heavy rain, strong winds, heavy snow, cold waves, droughts, and heat waves are supported based on the calculation criteria reflected in the unit price support ratio and disaster index. Social disasters, such as fires, collapses, explosions, and traffic accidents, indicate a fixed amount that reflects the support ratio already integrated into the results based on these natural disaster calculation standards.

For example, if a dwelling larger than 114 square meters is assumed to be completely destroyed, the support amount for both social and natural disasters is the same at 36 million won, according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated, 'There have been points raised by some media that the support for dwelling damage due to social and natural disasters is different,' and added, 'It is merely a difference in the notation, and the scale of support is the same. We will discuss ways to provide clear guidance with relevant agencies.'
