On the 3rd, a day before the ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol, police began searching for explosives near the Constitutional Court.

According to the police, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to deploy the police special forces and detection dogs to conduct explosives detection inspections around the Constitutional Court in preparation for the possibility of bomb threats.

The police plan to inspect not only the grounds of the Constitutional Court but also the area within a 150-meter radius, which has been surrounded by bus barricades, referred to as 'vacuum sealing.'

As of 9 a.m. that day, the police issued an 'Eul-ho emergency' alert, the second highest level, for emergency duty in Seoul. The Eul-ho emergency allows for the mobilization of 50% of police forces. The police deployed over 110 units in the downtown area of Seoul, including the Constitutional Court.

On the ruling day, the 4th, a 'Gap-ho emergency' alert will be issued nationwide, mobilizing 100% of police forces during emergency duty.
