A evacuation order was issued on the 25th at the Andong campus of the National Gyeongguk University due to a wildfire spreading in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk.
The city of Andong announced at around 7:38 p.m. on that day, "The wildfire in the area is spreading around Andong University (now the National Gyeongguk University Andong campus), so students and local citizens should evacuate to a safe place."
Officials from the National Gyeongguk University stated that faculty and staff were on emergency duty and monitoring the situation. It is reported that around 1,200 students are in the dormitories on campus.
A representative from the National Gyeongguk University noted, "The wildfire is still on the other side of the river, so we don't believe evacuation is necessary at this time," adding, "In case of an emergency, we are advising to evacuate to the playground and gymnasium."
