On the morning of the 20th, the prosecution is conducting a search and seizure at the official residence of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and the mayor's office. This investigation seeks to determine whether Myung Tae-kyun provided an unpublished opinion poll to Mayor Oh during the 2021 by-election for the Seoul mayoral position and whether the expense was covered by a businessman known to be a supporter of Mayor Oh.

On the same day, the dedicated investigation team for the Myung Tae-kyun allegations at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Head of Team Lee Ji-hyung, Deputy Prosecutor) sent prosecutors and investigators to search the residence of Mayor Oh, the mayor's office, and the residence of former Seoul Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs Kang Cheol-won, who is known to be an associate of Mayor Oh. The Seoul City government stated in a notice sent to reporters through a spokesperson that it "received notice of the prosecution's search and seizure of the mayor's office and official residence at 9 a.m. on the 20th."
The prosecution is investigating allegations that during the April 2021 by-election for mayor of Seoul, the polling firm "Future Korea Research Institute," which was effectively operated by Myung, conducted 13 unpublished opinion polls related to Mayor Oh. The prosecution is looking into whether businessman Kim Han-jeong, a long-time supporter of Mayor Oh, covered the expense of 33 million won over five occasions.
The Oh campaign stated, "We neither commissioned the polling to Myung nor received the results." On the same day, the Seoul City government noted, "We will confirm the scope of the warrant under the attendance of a lawyer and will respond cooperatively."
