On the 21st, the CIO's Investigation Division 4, led by Director General Cha Jeong-hyeon, is conducting a search and seizure at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office in Seocho District, Seoul. The CIO stated, "We are executing a search warrant to secure materials related to the prosecutor's alleged disclosure of public secrets."

This prosecutor is accused of querying the criminal records of individuals who are not subjects of investigation for a junior prosecutor. The CIO suspects that this prosecutor attempted to inquire about a specific individual's criminal records after receiving a personal request from his brother-in-law.

Earlier, the prosecution, while indicting this prosecutor on charges of violating the Resident Registration Act, the Act on the Prohibition of Favoritism, and the Electronic Criminal Procedure Act without detention, transferred the case related to the alleged disclosure of public secrets regarding the criminal records inquiry to the CIO.

On that day, the CIO investigated Kang Mi-jeong, the brother-in-law of this prosecutor and the informant regarding the allegations, as a witness in the related case. The spokesperson said, "I understand that prosecutor Lee Jeong-seop and his spouse have also been subject to prosecution investigations, and it is regrettable that the prosecution transferred the case to the CIO just before the statute of limitations expired."
