On Sunday, the 16th, snow or rain is expected to fall in most regions across the country. In particular, heavy snowfall is forecasted for the mountainous areas of Gangwon and the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province. Recently, temperatures have been maintained at higher than usual levels. However, on this day, temperatures will be lower than usual, and strong winds will make it feel cold.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that snow or rain would occur in the southern regions, excluding the metropolitan area, the Chungcheong region, and the northern coastal area of North Gyeongsang Province, until the afternoon. Snow or rain is also expected in the northern coastal area of North Gyeongsang Province until the evening. Snow or rain is anticipated to fall in the metropolitan area from night.

In the mountainous areas of Gangwon, snow of 10 to 20 cm is expected from this day until the following afternoon, while the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province may see 5 to 20 cm of snow. As a result, some areas in the mountainous region of Gangwon may accumulate more than 30 cm of snow. Around the west coast of Jeolla, rain droplets of less than 0.1 mm or snow flurries of less than 0.1 cm may fall from night, while Incheon and western Gyeonggi may experience similar conditions late at night.

Inland areas of Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province, and the central and southern parts of North Chungcheong Province, eastern North Jeolla Province, eastern South Jeolla Province, southern Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, eastern Ulsan and southern Gyeongsang Province are forecasted to receive around 1 cm of snow throughout the day. Additionally, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province, and the central and southern parts of North Chungcheong Province, southern Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, as well as Busan, Ulsan, and southern Gyeongsang Province are expected to see around 5 mm of rain on this day.

Temperatures will gradually drop as cold air descends from the north, expected to be 3 to 7 degrees lower than the previous day. The morning low is anticipated to be between 1 and 6 degrees, while the daytime high is expected to range from 5 to 11 degrees.

At 5 a.m. on this day, temperatures were recorded at 7.1 degrees in Seoul, 5.7 degrees in Incheon, 6.5 degrees in Suwon, 5.0 degrees in Chuncheon, 6.2 degrees in Gangneung, 6.6 degrees in Cheongju, 6.7 degrees in Daejeon, 6.9 degrees in Jeonju, 7.1 degrees in Gwangju, 8.8 degrees in Jeju, 6.1 degrees in Daegu, 6.2 degrees in Busan, 5.4 degrees in Ulsan, and 7.0 degrees in Changwon.

From the afternoon, strong winds exceeding 55 km/h are expected in most regions nationwide. The concentration of fine dust is expected to show a 'good' level due to the influx of clean northerly winds.
