The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 11th that snow will fall in most parts of the country on the upcoming 12th. In the metropolitan area and Gangwon, up to 10㎝ of snow is expected to accumulate. After the snow stops, a full moon can be seen through the clouds at night.
The country will experience warm and humid air due to a low-pressure system located over the Yellow Sea, which will create cloud bands. The cloud bands will move down along the northwestern wind. Late at night on the 12th, snow is expected to begin in the southwestern coast of Jeollanam-do and will fall across the country by dawn.
The expected snowfall is up to 10㎝ in eastern Gyeonggi and Gangwon, 3 to 8㎝ in the northeastern inland areas of Seoul, Incheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do, 1 to 5㎝ in the inland areas of Daejeon, Sejong, eastern Chungcheongnam-do, eastern Jeollabuk-do, western Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Jeju, and 1㎝ in Daegu and Ulsan.
After the snow stops, a full moon can be seen through the clouds in most parts of the country at night. The cold is also expected to lessen. The lowest temperature on the morning of the 12th is forecast to be between minus 5 degrees and positive 6 degrees, while the highest daytime temperature is expected to be between positive 3 degrees and 13 degrees.
