The KBS drama filming team that drove nails into Byeongsan Seowon's UNESCO World Heritage site has been referred to the prosecution.
The Andong Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province said on the 10th that it has referred three members of the KBS drama props team to the prosecution on suspicion of damaging the Byeongsan Seowon, a UNESCO-listed cultural heritage site (violation of the Cultural Heritage Preservation and Utilization Act).
They are suspected of driving nails to hang model lanterns for props at several wooden pillars in Mandaeru and Dongjae of Byeongsan Seowon on Dec. 30 last year. The city of Andong confirmed the damage to cultural properties and reported it to the police on the 3rd.
Article 92 of the Cultural Heritage Act (Crime of damage or concealment) states that 'anyone who damages, steals, or conceals a nationally designated cultural heritage or harms its utility in any other way shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than three years.'
