Song Jeong-han, head of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, has successfully been reappointed.

Bundang Seoul National University Hospital announced on the 17th that Professor Song Jeong-han, the 13th president, has been appointed as the 14th president.

President Song graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1988 and earned both a master's and doctoral degree from the same university's Graduate School of Medicine. He specialized in laboratory medicine and clinical chemistry, holding various key positions while working at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, including director of management innovation, director of education and training, director of human resource development, vice president of clinical affairs, and head of the public health sector. He took office as the 13th president in March 2023 and will serve as the 14th president through reappointment.

During his tenure, President Song was recognized for his ability to maintain stable operations amid rapid changes in the medical environment. As the medical vacuum caused by conflicts with medical professionals prolonged, he is credited with introducing an emergency management system, minimizing declines in management performance while laying the groundwork for growth.

In his second term, President Song's goals include successfully implementing medical reforms, including the transition to a general hospital structure, and building a smart hospital centered on intensive care. Bundang Seoul National University Hospital is also establishing a system to prepare for national health crises through the 'metropolitan area infectious disease specialty hospital' which is planned to open in 2030. It will serve as a control tower to respond to pandemics and the infection control situation in the metropolitan area.

President Song noted, "We must proactively respond to unexpected changes and shocks and turn the crises we face into opportunities for growth," and added, "To achieve the goal of becoming a 'global leading hospital,' I will establish a sustainable growth strategy, including an innovative medical education system and world-class research capabilities."
