Song Jeong-soo, a professor of rheumatology at Chung-Ang University Hospital, has been elected as the president of the 20th Korean Chronic Disease Management Association.
Chung-Ang University Hospital announced on the 6th that Professor Song was elected as the next president at the regular general meeting of the Korean Chronic Disease Management Association held on the 24th of last month. His term will begin in April and last for three years.
Professor Song graduated from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine and has worked at Chung-Ang University Hospital's rheumatology department after serving at Inha University College of Medicine. He has held key positions such as the chief professor at Chung-Ang University College of Medicine, Director of the Internal Medicine Department at Chung-Ang University Hospital, clinical supervisor, and head of the medical records department. Currently, he serves as the head of the external cooperation office and chair of the New Life Sponsorship Committee.
He is recognized as an expert with extensive clinical experience and research achievements in the field of rheumatology. His specialties include gout, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, Behçet's disease, and osteoarthritis.
Professor Song noted, "Chronic diseases are a field where prevention and continuous management are crucial," adding, "I will ensure that the association plays a central role in the prevention and management of chronic diseases and will carry out its responsibilities and mission to contribute to the improvement of public health."
The Korean Chronic Disease Management Association is a domestic academic organization established in 1978. It contributes to the improvement of chronic disease management systems through research and studies on chronic diseases, the development of treatment methods, and policy research.
