On the 10th (local time), the launch of the private spacecraft company SpaceX's "Falcon 9" rocket caused a trail of launch smoke to appear over parts of Southern California and Arizona. It resembles a giant cosmic fish, and according to NASA's photo description, this is the smoke trail from the first stage of the Falcon 9 launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base near Lompoc, California. The upper second stage rocket is rising near the apex of the smoke extending to the upper left. Venus shines in the top of the photo, and a bright streetlight can be seen on the far right of the image. This photo was taken looking west at the sky after sunset near Phoenix, Arizona. The Falcon 9 rocket successfully deployed 23 Starlink communication satellites into low Earth orbit.
