Starting from the 4th, Homeplus, which has been undergoing corporate rehabilitation (court management), decided to early repay the executive salaries for three days (1st to 3rd) this month.

According to the legal community on the 30th, Homeplus applied for early repayment approval of transaction claims worth 1.029 billion won to the Seoul Rehabilitation Court on the 27th.

Since the start of the rehabilitation on the 4th, Homeplus has been making normal payments on transaction claims. Separately, costs incurred from December last year to February this year are being paid in turn after receiving court approval for early repayment.

Regarding this repayment approval, Homeplus noted, "If the amount is not paid, it will be impossible to maintain a sustainable transaction relationship with partners due to anxiety and distrust, so we request early repayment."

Homeplus currently has 1.507 billion won in available funds. It explained that if 1.029 billion won is executed with court approval, 478 million won will remain.

Looking at the repayment application by item, it includes 518 million won for goods, 462 million won for cleaning service fees and store operating expenses, 30 million won for accounting audit fees, 420 million won for deposit refunds due to the end of lease transactions, 34 million won for deposit refunds for two Homeplus Express locations, and 41.25 million won for executive salaries from the 1st to 3rd of this month.

The applied amount for executive salaries includes 6.45 million won for representative Jo Joo-Yeon, and the two vice presidents applied for 2.74 million won and 2.5 million won, respectively. The remaining directors and senior managers applied for salaries ranging from 1 to 2 million won for the three days, while outside directors and other non-executive directors applied for salaries in the 400,000 won range.

However, some have pointed out that requesting early repayment of executive salaries for the three-day Samil holiday amidst frozen financial debts indicates a lack of responsibility from the management.

Separately, Homeplus paid the regular salaries for February and March for its 20,000 directly employed staff.
