The awards ceremony held at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach was attended by key figures, including Chairman Kim Seok-jun of Ssangyong Construction and Minister Ong Ye Kung of the Singapore Ministry of Health.

The MOHH Excellence Award 2025 is given to construction industry partners who contributed to the development of public healthcare infrastructure in Singapore. It awards the Distinguished Award for sites completed or under construction last year and selects 1 to 2 projects in each of the institutional sectors of design, innovation, and construction, ranked as platinum, gold, or merit. Ssangyong Construction won the platinum award in the construction sector.

For the first time this year, the individual excellence award was presented to Chairman Kim Seok-jun of Ssangyong Construction. A representative from Ssangyong Construction explained that his efforts in leading the joint venture with Daewoo E&C and local companies to successfully complete the WHC project amid difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic were highly praised.

The WHC, commissioned by the Ministry of Health (MOH), is located on a site of approximately 76,600 square meters in the Woodlands area of northern Singapore, with a total floor area of 386,730 square meters, including 4 underground levels and 7 above-ground levels, comprising 8 buildings and 1,500 beds.

Ssangyong Construction has integrated advanced information technology (IT) to create four separate medical facilities, including a general hospital, community hospital, elderly care facility center, and hospice center. The total construction cost is approximately 1.6 trillion won, and it was completed in April of last year.

A representative of Ssangyong Construction (Global SeAH Group) noted, "Experts who participated in the construction of the world-renowned building 'Marina Bay Sands' supported the WHC site, proving the construction capabilities of Korean construction companies. We aim to solidify Ssangyong Construction's position in Singapore based on our differentiated construction abilities."
