Samsung E&A announced on the 3rd that it has secured a plant project worth 2.5 trillion won in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Samsung E&A reported that it signed a contract with the UAE state oil company Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) of the 'UAE Methanol Project' on the 31st. The signing ceremony, held in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, was attended by Namgung Hong, president of Samsung E&A, and Marshall Al Kindi, president of Tajiz, among other executives from both companies.
The project involves the construction of a plant at the Tajiz Industrial Complex in the UAE Ruwais Industrial Area, which will produce 5,000 tons of methanol per day. The contract amount is approximately 2.4788 trillion won (about $17.6 million), and the contract period is 44 months.
Samsung E&A plans to actively apply the asset of experience from the recently completed methanol project in Malaysia, as well as innovative technologies such as modularization and automation, to this project, and expressed expectations that it would be able to fully utilize its accumulated know-how and local network.
A representative from Samsung E&A noted, 'We were able to secure this project based on the client's trust in our successful experience with the methanol project and our differentiated technological capabilities,' adding, 'We will successfully execute the project to contribute to the diversification of the UAE's national economy and strengthen our position in the Middle East.'
