Public institutions will hire 28,000 full-time employees this year. This is the largest recruitment since 2020. They will also hire 24,000 youth interns at public institutions.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy held the 2026 public institution job fair at the aT Center in Yangjae, Seoul, on the 27th and stated accordingly. The fair runs through the 29th.
Koo Yun-cheol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, said, "Youth jobs are not just an employment issue but the growth engine and the foundation of hope that will shoulder the future of the Republic of Korea," and added, "This year, public institutions plan to hire full-time employees at a level 4,000 higher than the previous year, and youth interns, which serve as a stepping stone to full-time hiring, at a level 3,000 higher than the previous year."
Deputy Prime Minister Koo said, "Through a grand transition to artificial intelligence (AI) and a super-innovation economy, we will create high-quality jobs favored by young people," and added, "Amid digital transformation and changes in industrial structure, we will make youth job creation the top priority of state administration and focus all capabilities so that young people can grow into key players in future industries."
