The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced on the 26th that it has completed performance improvements for the UH-60 'Black Hawk' helicopter simulator operated by the Army.
The helicopter simulator is equipment designed to allow simulated piloting by reproducing the actual operating environment through a three-dimensional visual system. It enables experiences similar to actual flight even from the ground.

Pilots can develop their response abilities to emergency situations such as dealing with enemy aerial combat as well as bad weather or aircraft malfunctions using the simulator. There is also a cost reduction effect compared to actual flights.
There were issues with the performance degradation of the existing simulator, which was powered in 2000 and 2008, and some parts had been discontinued. Consequently, DAPA applied changes in this improvement such as replacing the image generation system, loading new terrain information, and shortening initial boot time.
Park Jeong-eun, head of the DAPA Base Power Business Support Department, noted, “We will respond quickly to the performance improvement requirements requested by the military through the ongoing power performance maximization project.”
