The group BTS's various collaborations have received praise from foreign media.
On the 28th (local time), the American media Complex announced its '15 best K-pop and rap collaborations of all time.' It selected outstanding works among collaboration songs by Korean artists and famous overseas rappers, with five songs by BTS making the list.
Included are Jungkook's solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)', J-Hope's solo single 'on the street (with J. Cole)', 'LV Bag (feat. j-hope & Pharrell Williams)' in collaboration with Don Toliver, 'Change' with RM and Wale, and the group song 'Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)', showcasing their global influence once again.
In particular, Jungkook's 'Seven (feat. Latto)' secured the top spot on the list. Complex noted, "It's hard to imagine a more effective collaboration between K-pop and rap," pointing out the song's success factors as its trendy sound, witty concept, Jungkook's voice and expressiveness, and Latto's strong featuring.
J-Hope's songs made it onto the list twice, proving his musicality. The media described J-Hope as having "established himself as a solo artist over the years" and stated, "While 'on the street (with J. Cole)' showcases inner depth through its emotional lyrics and composition, 'LV Bag (feat. j-hope & Pharrell Williams)' captures a more glamorous and energetic voice and performance."
Complex highlighted 'Change' by RM and Wale as "one of the most memorable K-pop and rap collaborations in recent memory," describing it as a song that, while addressing heavy themes, conveys a hopeful message. It chose the representative lyric "The world is gonna change."
BTS's group song also made the list. The selected song is a remix version of their global mega hit 'Butter,' featuring American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Complex praised the collaboration's completeness, stating, "'Butter' is a song that topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and with Megan Thee Stallion's participation, it added a new charm."
