The leadership of the People Power Party continued its efforts to tend to the 'livelihood economy' by meeting with medium-sized enterprises and the fashion industry on the 25th. This contrasts with the Democratic Party of Korea's calls for a prompt ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol and its all-out struggle outside the assembly, while the ruling party seeks to project an image of 'responsible ruling party.'

On the same day, the leadership of the People Power Party visited the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses in Mapo, Seoul, to hold a meeting with the medium-sized business sector. This was to check the management status of medium-sized corporations in light of domestic and international political and economic conditions and to seek improvement measures for their difficulties.

The People Power Party criticized the opposition party for proposing anti-corporation legislation that hampers the economy.

Chairman Kwon Young-se of the emergency committee remarked, "It is truly unfortunate that bills imposing burdens on corporations continue incessantly due to the legislative rampage of the massive opposition party." He added, "Despite the significant responsibility of the majority party in Congress, the opposition party is handling legislation without a sufficient understanding of the realities of the economy and corporations, raising concerns about the loss of market trust and corporate vitality." He emphasized, "We will boldly lift regulations that stifle corporations and swiftly promote support measures that give wings to corporations."

Kim Sang-hoon, chairman of the policy committee, said, "These days, it seems that politics is holding down the economy, and I feel very embarrassed and sorry," adding, "In the National Assembly, bills are being produced that strengthen regulations on corporations, which is incomparable to the past, and I feel a heavy sense of responsibility."

Song Eon-seok, chairman of the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, pointed out that discussions on the inheritance law are in a stalemate due to the opposition party's struggles outside the assembly. He noted, "I suggested opening a tax subcommittee to discuss this issue (abolition of spouse inheritance tax), but the Democratic Party has been procrastinating, claiming that they are not practically prepared, and recently, they have been walking every day, indicating that they are too busy to have proper discussions until now."

During the meeting that day, the medium-sized business sector reportedly requested the government to actively propose the exercise of the right to request reconsideration (veto) for the amendment to the Commercial Act, which passed the National Assembly on the 13th. The bill includes 'the duty of directors to be loyal to shareholders' and 'the obligation to hold virtual shareholders' meetings.' The ruling party is concerned that once the amendment is enacted, lawsuits will become rampant and management rights will be excessively infringed by speculative capital.

Prior to this, floor leader Kweon Seong-dong and other leaderships met in the National Assembly for a discussion on policies to support the fashion industry. Floor leader Kweon said, "Now is a time when innovation for transitioning to a high-value-added fashion industry based on various types and designs is continuously required," adding, "The government and ruling party will take care so that 'K-fashion' can move forward."

Participants in the meeting included professionals from fashion corporations, designers, manufacturers, fashion tech, and consulting industries, who presented recommendations such as ▲transition to next-generation manufacturing methods ▲strengthening of intellectual property protection in the global market ▲expanding interest at the National Assembly level in corporate management enhancement using AI (artificial intelligence).

The ruling party leadership is maintaining distance from the impeachment opposition struggles led by the majority of its members, continuing its efforts for the livelihood. However, it is maintaining a two-track strategy, not sanctioning the harsh words and actions of some members. There are analyses suggesting that it shows the irresponsible stance of the opposition party, which focuses its efforts outside the assembly on marches and collective sit-ins while targeting the moderate faction.

The People Power Party will continue its efforts to support livelihoods even on the 26th, when the ruling on the election law for representative Lee is scheduled. On the 26th, a field meeting for the advancement of basic science and the resurgence of the science and engineering fields will be held at the Korea Institute of Standards and Science in Daejeon. Additionally, a high-level government-party consultative meeting with Acting President Han Duck-soo will be held within this week to discuss the supplementary budget preparation.
