Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who is acting on behalf of the president, convened the National Security Council (NSC) on the 24th and said, "Please ensure that our foreign policies for the people and national interests are carried out without any disruption."
That afternoon at 9 p.m. at the Government Seoul Building in Jongno District, Prime Minister Han held an emergency NSC plenary meeting and stated, "We are closely cooperating with allied countries and the international community based on the solid Korea-U.S. alliance."
He noted, "The security situation facing the Republic of Korea is more severe than ever," and added, "North Korea continues military provocations, including nuclear and missile threats, and has not stopped cyber attacks against our government, corporations, and the public."
He further stated, "Now, more than ever, please maintain thorough preparedness to protect the lives and properties of our citizens without any gaps."
Acting Prime Minister Han emphasized, "Today, security policies and economic policies cannot be separated," and added, "All ministries must work as one team and closely cooperate to ensure that our corporations can secure stable supply chains and freely demonstrate their capabilities in the global market."
