Choi Sang-mok, acting president and Minister of Economy and Finance, instructed, "The Korea Forest Service should cooperate with local governments, the Korean National Police Agency, the Ministry of National Defense, and others to mobilize all available equipment and personnel to make every effort for early suppression of the wildfire that occurred in Uiseong County, Gyeongbuk."
On the 22nd, Acting President Choi noted, "As the wildfire is rapidly spreading due to strong winds, please ensure that residents are evacuated to prevent casualties," and said, "We must mobilize all available resources to fight the fire before sunset and ensure the safety of the firefighting personnel."
He also said, "Please ensure thorough preparation for firefighting personnel and equipment in case it leads to a nighttime wildfire," and instructed, "The Ministry of the Interior and Safety must cooperate with the Korean National Police Agency and local governments to swiftly communicate the disaster situation to nearby residents and make every effort to manage safety, such as controlling hikers."
