Kim noted in a Facebook post titled "The Democratic Party needs the courage to restrain itself" that "the Democratic Party ultimately proposed an impeachment motion against Acting President Choi Sang-mok."

Kim stated, "The practical benefits are minimal, and it will exacerbate public anxiety," adding that "We are facing the impending ruling on Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's impeachment in a few days." He also remarked, "The previous impeachment cases have all been dismissed, leading to a high level of negative public opinion."

Kim emphasized, "Our Democratic Party must carefully consider the consequences of pushing for the impeachment of the economic chief during this already difficult economic time," noting, "The impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has already provided ammunition to the ruling party and far-right forces. Impeachment against ministers cannot be a means of venting frustration."

He added, "The Democratic Party must deeply consider that reckless impeachment proceedings following inappropriate remarks like 'be careful' could lead to a loss of public trust," and asserted, "Our Democratic Party has a heavy responsibility to lead the country stably with a resolute commitment to safeguarding democratic constitutional order and the courage to restrain itself amid political chaos. The public and future generations are watching."

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon expressed concern, saying, "Is it really advantageous for the Democratic Party to proceed with impeachment under the current political conditions or political situation?"

In a telephone interview on CBS Radio's "Kim Hyun-jung's News Show," the governor said, "Including the failure to appoint Constitutional Court Justice Ma Eun-hyeok, there are several grounds for impeachment against Acting President Choi Sang-mok," while making this statement.

He mentioned, "Given the various circumstances of the unstable governance currently, I am somewhat skeptical about whether that is truly the most desirable path."
