The People Power Party asserted 'rejection and dismissal of impeachment' while mentioning former Presidents Park Chung-hee and Park Geun-hye at a rally against the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol held in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province on the 15th.
Na Kyung-won, Yoon Sang-hyun, Lee Man-hee, Koo Ja-geun, Jang Dong-hyuk, and Kang Myung-gu attended the 'National Emergency Prayer Meeting' organized by the conservative Christian group Save Korea in front of Gumi Station in North Gyeongsang Province.
Na Kyung-won stated, "When former President Park Chung-hee visited Taiwan in 1969, he said, 'The Republic of Korea is a bastion of freedom.' Let's create bigger waves of freedom. The start of that will be the day President Yoon's impeachment is declared invalid and he returns to his duties."
Yoon Sang-hyun claimed, "Gumi is the birthplace of the unparalleled hero and immortal leader President Park Chung-hee," and added, "We must rearm with the indomitable spirit of Park Chung-hee to rescue President Yoon, who is caught in the inferno of impeachment trials, and protect the freedom, democracy, and rule of law of the Republic of Korea."
Yoon continued, "Seven to eight years ago, we made the mistake of foolishly impeaching our former President Park Geun-hye," and emphasized, "We must not repeat such a mistake again."
Jang Dong-hyuk asserted, "The dismissal of the impeachment against President Yoon is not far off," and questioned, "Why is the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung so agitated? It is because they know the impeachment will be rejected."
Jang noted, "We must fight until the end. The appointment of Ma Eun-hyuk (Constitutional Court Justice) must be stopped at all costs," and added, "We cannot know what they might do. Isn't it a matter concerning the life of the notorious criminal Lee Jae-myung?"
Kang Myung-gu recalled the time he visited former President Park Geun-hye with the party leadership on the 3rd, saying, "Former President Park was very concerned about President Yoon," and reiterated, "We must prevent this fraudulent impeachment at all costs."
Lee Cheol-woo, the governor of North Gyeongsang Province, appealed, "Let's open a '2.0 era' of President Yoon Suk-yeol, leading to a free Republic of Korea and free unification."
