Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, urged on the 25th that the Democratic Party immediately withdraw the 'yellow envelope law (Labor Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act amendments to Articles 2 and 3).'

Kweon noted during a party meeting that morning, "The yellow envelope law collapses the rule of law and elevates the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) to an extralegal entity," and added that "the Democratic Party must immediately rescind this evil law."

He stated, "The yellow envelope law restricts corporations' claims for damages against strikes by unions. Currently, 99.6% of the damage claims against unions are targeting the KCTU," and emphasized, "In other words, the biggest beneficiary of the yellow envelope law is the KCTU, and the biggest victim is corporations."

Earlier, Democratic Party member Park Hong-bae proposed an amendment to the Labor Union Act on the 17th. This was a reintroduction of a bill that had already been discarded twice when President Yoon Suk-yeol exercised the right to request reconsideration (veto). The amendment aims to strengthen primary contractors' responsibilities for subcontracting and limit corporations' damage claims against striking workers. There are concerns that it could function as a 'poison pill' that restricts companies from claiming damages when losses occur due to workers' refusal to work during a strike.

Kweon urged the Democratic Party again to cooperate on business-friendly bills, including the application of the semiconductor special law's '52-hour exception clause,' relaxing inheritance tax, and amending the capital markets law to protect minority shareholders' interests.

He expressed, "Inheritance tax reduction must align with global standards. Including Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, countries worldwide have lowered inheritance tax rates or abolished the inheritance tax altogether," and pointed out, "However, our country's inheritance tax is at the highest level in the world at 50%. With management premiums added, it reaches 60%. Who would want to run a corporation in a country where they can't even retain half when passing down a business?"

Regarding the Commercial Code amendment that the Democratic Party unilaterally processed the day before in the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, he stated, "It is an anti-business law that seriously threatens corporate management activities and will cause significant confusion in the corporate sector," and added, "If they truly care about corporations and the economy, they should immediately withdraw it and accept the amendment to the capital markets law proposed by our party to protect minority shareholders' interests."

He also called for cooperation from Lee Jae-myung, who claims to represent the 'centrist conservative party.' He said, "Market economy is a core value of conservatism. If Representative Lee really wants to practice centrist conservatism, he needs to abolish the evil laws that distort the market. Instead, he should support the People Power Party's legislation that is friendly to the market and industry," and urged, "Cooperate with the conservative party's bills. Do not just claim to be centrist and conservative, but prove it through action."
