The 'Presidential Acting Authority Support Group,' a dedicated organization to support the national affairs of Acting President Choi Sang-mok, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, has been launched. The support group will perform the role of the Presidential Office moving forward.
According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on the 18th, the Presidential Acting Authority Support Group has been formed with Bum Seok Austin Kim as the Director General. The support group will operate in a structure of six teams: ▲ Disaster Security Team ▲ Schedule Coordination Team ▲ Planning Coordination Team ▲ Messaging Team ▲ Diplomacy and Security Team ▲ Public Relations Team.
Chun Jae-ho, the Deputy Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, has been appointed as the head of the Schedule Coordination Team, which functions as the secretary team. Ko Kwang-hee, Policy Advisor to the Minister, and Hong Min-seok, Deputy Director General, have been respectively appointed as heads of the Planning Coordination Team and Messaging Team. Jang Jeong-jin, the Director General of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, will head the Diplomacy and Security Team, while Nam Kyung-cheol, Deputy Director General, will be in charge of the Public Relations Team. Lee Yong-seok, a policy officer at the Office of the Prime Minister, has been appointed as the head of the Disaster Security Team.
With the launch of this support group, the 'Presidential Acting Authority Support Temporary Task Force (TF)' formed after the National Assembly's resolution on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol has been disbanded.
