The People Power Party criticized the pragmatic line of Democratic Party of Korea leader Lee Jae-myung ahead of his National Assembly negotiation group representative speech.
On the 9th, People Power Party spokesperson Seo Ji-young met with reporters at the National Assembly and noted, “Isn't the growth and inclusivity that the representative is talking about a disguised 'right turn'? I can't trust it.”
Secretary-General Lee Yang-soo also criticized on social networking service (SNS), “Recently, the representative has emphasized growth and pragmatism daily, showing a 180-degree different stance from before, and I am concerned about what he might disguise as pragmatism to deceive the public in his negotiation group representative speech tomorrow.”
The representative has recently embraced pragmatism while continuing his 'right turn' approach. He has shown a flexible attitude toward the controversial 'white-collar exemption' in the semiconductor special law and the Democratic Party of Korea's re-engagement in discussions on inheritance tax relief, which is in the same context.
Within the People Power Party, there is a mood to keep in check the representative's pragmatic approach. Na Kyung-won also criticized via SNS, stating, “The representative's rapid disguised right turn and frame shifting are unsightly. Wise citizens will no longer be deceived; they see through the essence.”
