Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said on the 15th that it held training to strengthen capabilities to respond to vulnerabilities in information security products using artificial intelligence (AI) for corporations developing information security products.
The training was prepared to enhance corporations' analysis and response capabilities to new threats as AI use expands in the security field. About 50 people, including information security and physical security product developers and corporate security managers, participated.
KISA introduced trends in AI use in the security field and safe utilization measures, new security threats arising from the spread of AI agents, and cases of AI-based malware analysis. It also provided guidance on how to use the Vulnerability Inspection Test Lab, which can check for vulnerabilities in information security products.
The Vulnerability Inspection Test Lab is a software vulnerability inspection facility that KISA has operated since July. Using analysis tools such as frontier AI models, it analyzes vulnerabilities in product source code and provides utilizing corporations with a report containing analysis results and remediation measures.
The test lab is located at the Information Security Industry Support Center on the 8th floor of KISA's Seoul Government Building in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Corporations wishing to use it can make a reservation on the Information Security Industry Promotion Portal.
Oh Jin-young, head of KISA's AI Security Industry Headquarters, said, "As requirements for managing security vulnerabilities are strengthened at home and abroad, including the European Union (EU) Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which mandates vulnerability management, corporations' capabilities to proactively check and respond to vulnerabilities from the development stage are becoming more important," and added, "We will continue to expand practical training and vulnerability inspection environments using artificial intelligence to contribute to realizing a safe basic society for artificial intelligence."
