LG Electronics announced on the 6th that it has installed a main LED scoreboard measuring 30.5 meters wide and 11.5 meters tall, with an area of 350.75 square meters (approximately 1280 inches) at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the end of March.
The commercial display provided at Fenway Park is a high-definition product that supports HDR technology, which analyzes dark and bright areas in detail to create images that look as natural as what one sees with the eye. It features high brightness of over 7,000 nits, an IP65 waterproof and dustproof rating, and flexibility that can be tailored to the stadium environment.
LG Electronics' large LED signage conveyed vivid game situations to the audience gathered for the Boston Red Sox's first home game at Fenway Park on the 4th (local time).
LG Electronics has formed a strategic partnership with ANC, the agency managing the stadium operations and advertising for Fenway Sports Group, the owner of the Boston Red Sox, and has agreed to cooperate to offer innovative entertainment experiences to sports fans in Boston and various regions across the United States.
Troop Parkinson, chief marketing officer of the Boston Red Sox, noted, "We will innovate the in-stadium experience for fans with LG Electronics' cutting-edge technology while presenting dynamic promotions that Red Sox Nation can enjoy throughout the season."
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is intensifying its media entertainment platform-based service business for global sports fans by integrating the operations of its display division, including TVs, monitors, and signage, under the MS business unit.
Earlier this year, LG Electronics formed a partnership with AMB Sports & Entertainment and installed a display around the field measuring 141 square meters at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. At the large-scale cultural complex Atomic Golf in Las Vegas, one can also experience indoor and outdoor LED signage, including LG Magnit.
Park Hyung-se, president of LG Electronics' MS business unit, said, "We are strengthening partnerships with global sports franchises based on commercial displays and customer-tailored solutions, and we will enhance the value of customer spaces while providing differentiated media entertainment experiences."
