Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 23rd that it will operate a quality university for all employees.
The Samsung Electro-Mechanics quality university will start on the 24th with a curriculum and practical training to help employees recognize the importance of quality and grow into quality experts.
The quality university will be taught by current professors and company representatives, as well as in-house employees holding quality engineer certifications. It will consist of a university-level curriculum with a total of 20 subjects, ranging from level 1, which establishes basic concepts, to level 4, which focuses on practical applications. The main categories will include data analysis, quality systems, and job utilization. In particular, to cater to the increasing importance of automotive products, subjects related to automotive technology have been established within the quality systems category.
Employees will complete basic courses needed for statistical data analysis, acquire statistical knowledge, and develop practical skills in various fields such as product development, process improvement, and customer complaint resolution through hands-on training using real-world cases.
The Samsung Electro-Mechanics quality university will operate with customized training programs reflecting the product characteristics of each establishment in Suwon, Sejong, and Busan. More than 1,500 employees, including those from the quality department, research and development, production, and purchasing departments, have applied for the training.
President Jang Deok-hyun noted, "The last gate before supplying to the customer is 'quality.' Quality is both trust and a promise to the customer. We must provide value to our customers with the best quality."
Samsung Electro-Mechanics conducts regular quality training for partner companies, in addition to the quality university for employees, as part of its efforts to improve product quality.
The Samsung Electro-Mechanics quality university plans to add courses reflecting the latest technologies such as AI-based quality analysis and big data utilization. Through this, Samsung Electro-Mechanics aims to strengthen quality innovation and global product competitiveness.
