LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary held 'LG College Day' on the 21st at Princeton University, inviting over 50 college students taking Korean language courses.

LG Electronics toured the showroom set up at its headquarters with Princeton University students, introducing innovative technologies found in products like the LG Signature OLED TV, a wireless and transparent OLED TV, and the portable wireless screen LG StanbyME. The company showcased its corporate culture, emphasizing its brand slogan 'Life’s Good,' as well as various efforts to create a better life and future for the planet.

Since the year before last, LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary has been inviting Korean language majors from nearby universities to introduce its business and technological capabilities while providing mentoring through LG College Day. This year, schools such as Princeton University, Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, New York University, and Wesleyan University are expected to participate. The event will provide opportunities to learn specifically about LG Electronics' technology, which leads the U.S. home appliance market, as well as future technologies like AI home and robotics.

LG Electronics expects that these events will spark the interest of students taking Korean classes at prestigious universities in the U.S. in K-culture, which will translate into interest in the LG Electronics brand, a leading domestic company with operations in the local market. This, in turn, will create opportunities to expand connections with future customers and secure future talent.

During this event, LG Electronics also introduced various activities that contribute to the community as part of its role as a global corporate citizen, and the college students showed high interest in LG Electronics' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management activities.

Since last year, LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary has been running 'The LG Endangered Species Series' campaign using billboards in New York's Times Square, while also establishing a 'Pollinator Garden' within its headquarters, becoming the first Korean company to obtain the Certified Wildlife Habitat® certification from the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). The Pollinator Garden is designed as a habitat where bees, butterflies, and other species that have seen population declines due to climate change can thrive, preserving biodiversity and establishing a sustainable ecosystem.

LG Electronics' North American headquarters was recognized for various efforts to maximize energy efficiency by implementing a Building Energy Management System (BEMS) within the building, receiving the highest platinum level under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program in 2020.

Since 2021, LG Electronics has officially sponsored the Tennessee Titans, an NFL team based in Nashville, Tennessee, and has conducted clothing recycling campaigns involving players and local residents. The company has also engaged in various community service activities, including donating one-body washer-dryer 'Washtower' to elementary schools in the Tennessee area for low-income students.

Jeong Gyu-hwang, the North America regional vice president, said, 'We will continue to expand communication with various customers, including U.S. college students of the YG generation, and continue to broaden our customer touchpoints.'
