Samsung Display won its lawsuit against the Chinese display company BOE for 'organic light-emitting diode (OLED) patent infringement' filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). However, the ITC decided not to impose a ban on the import and sale of BOE products in the U.S., determining that there was no impact on the U.S. display industry.

On the 19th (local time), the ITC stated that in the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Samsung Display, 'BOE, Injerd Gadget, and Wholesale Gadget Parts, among other U.S. component wholesalers, respectively infringed 3 and 4 of Samsung Display's patents.'

This is the final acknowledgment of BOE's patent infringement after 2 years and 3 months since the lawsuit was filed in December 2022.

Meanwhile, a preliminary decision regarding the trade secret infringement lawsuit that Samsung Display filed against BOE and its subsidiaries with the ITC in October 2023 is expected to be made by the end of this month.

BOE is accused of infringing trade secrets and stealing company technology through former and current employees of Samsung Display and its partner companies.

In addition, Samsung Display also filed a patent infringement lawsuit against BOE in the Eastern District Court of Texas at the end of 2023.
